PRODUCTS - MARINE REVERSE OSMOSIS

I have been building RO units suitable for liveaboards with capacities from 300 l/h to 450 l/h. The units are suitable for boats carrying ten to thirty guests and crew.

RO units are dimensioned and built according to system design guidelines from Dow FILMTEC Technical Manual 1

Features

Unit comes equipped with:

  • Media filtration, with 5-way valve allowing filter backwash and rinsing. Thus extending cartridge change interval by at least 10x.

  • Automatic Alarm/shutdown in case of low feed pressure due to congested filters, foreign matter sucked into raw water intake or feed pump failure.

  • Automatic pump speed control, slowing the high pressure pump in case of exceeding the HP side pressure limit (If pressure control valve closed to far).

  • Automatic Alarm/shutdown in case of sudden pressure increase

  • Panel mounted Inverter control keypad with extensive monitoring (Run Hrs, Power usage, Temperatures, HP pump torque level and RPM, Motor current, etc.)

  • Panel mounted Digital TDS ppm, Feed Temperature and conductivity meter.

  • Y-valve for manual fresh water flush.

Construction Details

  • Heavy duty SS316L 30l/min 100bar triplex plunger pump with hollow shaft direct coupling

  • Alliance 4kW 3phase 1450rpm motor with SKF bearings

  • PENTAIR (made in Australia ) feed pump with strainer

  • PENTAIR - Codeline FRP membrane vessels 4” x 40”

  • Dow Filmtech SW30-4040 membranes

  • Feed water pre-treatment:

    1. Strainer
    2. Media filtration (sand/anthracite) high flow (>10 ton/hr )
    3. Twin BIG/JUMBO 4.5” x 20” cartridge filters

  • LP and HP stainless SS316L pressure gauges

  • Permeate & concentrate flow meters

  • Digital TDS meter

  • High pressure fittings SS 316L

  • Manual fresh water flush operation with Y-valves

  • Low feed pressure cutoff switch (< 0.8bar)

  • Over-pressure protection (60bar on HP side)

  • Electrical control panel with 4kW AC inverter drive (ABB ACS)
