3-phase Motor Control

Using an inverter motor drive will enable you to start machinery with high torque while avoiding large start currents and demand for oversized generators.

Also with proper configuration, many protective functions are available. For example:

• Automatic slow down of overloaded motors ( Water maker or dive compressor over pressure ).
• Manual speed control to reduce noise or power demand.
• Torque limit for anchor windlass, preventing damage to machinery, chain or harm to the operator.
• Straightforward remote control.
• Preset blower/fan motor speeds programmable with timers, to reduce noise during night or guests request.
• External alarms or faults to stop machinery for example:
  • dive compressor in case of low oil pressure
  • water maker in case of low feed water supply (plastic sucked into water intake)
  • Motor earth fault, like floded anchor windlass or damaged wires

It is very important for safe and reliable functioning, that units are installed correctly, with proper dimensioned cabling, shielding and grounding. Typical local wiring job will cause unreliable operation, or unit failure.

In last 2 years I have installed more than 15 units on quite a few liveaboards, and had zero issues with them.
